STR Design Made Easy: Nordic Style

Nordic design is all about capturing the essence of classic Scandinavian style. With simplicity and functionality at its core, this style always maintains an air of space and calm. Think white walls, light floors, black accents, and unique little design elements. Done right, these deliver a minimalist but charming aesthetic.

Simplicity is key here, but "simple" doesn't always mean "easy, right?!

Follow my easy steps:

1. Keep your color palette simple. Stick with whites, black, and neutrals, with just one or two accent colors used throughout your space.  

2. Spend time selecting art. Because the decor and colors are minimal, art becomes the forefront of Nordic design. Choose wisely and make art the interesting focal points in the home. 

3. Make light fixtures pop. Like the art, cool light fixtures stand out in a minimal space. Choose something streamlined and nordic, or vintage and funky to create unexpected drama in this otherwise calm space. 

4. Create Hygge. Simple and serene doesn't mean stark and cold. Be sure to include plenty of cozy throws and soft pillows to ensure your guests have a cozy environment to curl up in.
